Today brings a quarterly rebalance to SCI (Salt Creek Investors). For several weeks we’ve been preparing for the new allocations and performing due diligence on the managers coming into solution. There were no changes to the policy allocation for the upcoming quarter, but new managers did appear. Turnover in the models was approximately 35% with some current managers coming into solution under a different asset sleeve (i.e. mid-center versus large growth). This is all a result of the analysis done by Sortino Investment Analytics (SIA). We are highly confident in the solutions they provide us from quarter to quarter. The work they do is based on an investment rationale that is widely accepted, persistent, and objective. Our results over the past year validate the consistency and depth of their analysis. If you’d like to learn more about the science behind our models then I suggest visiting our website www.saltcreekinvestors.com. You can also give Jim Kaffen or myself a call to learn more.
We are fast approaching the one year anniversary of SCI and performance results have exceeded our expectations. I’ll speak more about performance and risk in the quarterly report due out later this week, but current SCI clients can see Orion generated performance reports through the Emoney portal. My clients have found this portal to be a valuable tool for not only viewing performance reports and daily values, but also for storing important documents and being able to aggregate various accounts into one place. As an advisor, this portal serves as an excellent tool for client engagement and discovery of new assets. As we approach the one year anniversary of SCI we thank you for all of your support in making our efforts successful.
